Should You Get Hemorrhoids Surgery To Cure It?
Viewed 216 viewsHemorrhoid surgery is a surgery that is performed in order to remove the hemorrhoids located in the rectum area. Hemorrhoid surgery can be performed on internal or external hemorrhoids. Hemorrhoids surgery uses a special stapler or sutures to remove the hemorrhoids. Before the operation begins, the nurse will attempt to inject you with a anesthesia so that you will fall asleep.
After the hemorrhoid is completely removed, the stitches will dissolve by itself and the hemorrhoid will bleed less often. Hemorrhoids that are not severe or small in size do not require surgery. Small hemorrhoids can be treated by a doctor in a clinic without the use of anesthesia.
During the hemorrhoid surgery, the doctor will inject you with a chemical so that the swelling will reduce. A rubber band will be placed around the swollen veins to enable the doctor to easily cut off the blood supply that is flowing into the vein. Finally, the doctor will reduce the hemorrhoids by using a laser technique. Some doctors use a liquid nitrogen to freeze and shrink the hemorrhoid.
Hemorrhoid surgery can be performed via several techniques including traditional surgery, stapled hemorrhoidopexy (PPH Procedure), Harmonic Scalpel Hemorrhoid surgery, and laser surgery. Traditional surgery are performed via two techniques including the Milligan-Morgan Technique and Ferguson Technique.
The Milli-Morgan technique was invented by Dr. Milligan and Dr. Morgan in 1937. In the Milligan-Morgan technique the 3 biggest hemorrhoidal vessels are cut off. The doctor will perform 3 pear-shaped incisions. The Ferguson technique was invented by Dr. Ferguson from the United States in 1952.
In the Ferguson Technique, the incisions are partially closed with an absorbable suture. The Ferguson technique causes breakage during the bowel movement, and patient usually recover in 5 – 7 weeks. In stapled hemorrhoidopexy, a circular stapling device is used to remove the excess of the prolapsed hemorrhoid tissue. The remaining hemorrhoid tissue will be stapled so that the hemorrhoidal tissue will be restored into the original position. Stapled hemorrhoidopexy surgery can destroy the rectal wall if too much muscle tissue is dragged into the device. Stapled hemorrhoidopexy surgery is not suitable for people that have large hemorrhoids.
There are many different ways to treat hemorrhoid condition. The best way to cure hemorrhoids is to determine the root of the problem.
