This was one of the most bizarre advertisements I ever saw. Skin care in your fridge stated an advertisement by EliteSkin, makers of science-inspired cosmeceuticals. Apparently this innovative skin care company based in South Florida and owned by Skin Pro International has been in the lab and cooking up some of the most special skin creams over the last few years. The latest product released by the company is called the Cryogenic Moisturizer, and it’s a daily use skin cream formulated to work at a cool temperature.

This skin cream actually has a label that changes colors, like a chameleon, when it reaches the right temperature for your skin. This patent-pending formula is one of the slickest products I’ve seen in a while, and while it’s odd to keep a skin product in the refrigerator, it’s certainly genius in my opinion.

The company that launched this product is known for innovating the skin care industry, one angle at a time. Around this time last year I read about the Elite Serum, which uses a proprietary blend of antioxidants and cosmeceuticals in the popular eye treatment. Until then, people did not associate the acai berry and resveratrol as ingredients that were meant to be in skin creams. While they were popular in weight loss pills and even fruit-infused waters, their inclusion in skin care lines blossomed later on. Thanks to EliteSkin, resveratrol is a well-known ingredient now in skin creams and one that is being talked about in many health publications.

Here is a list of the ingredients in the Cryogenic Moisturizer, which is sold in a 30 ML jar and lasts about a month with twice daily use.

Purified water, squalane (awesome ingredient in many top selling anti aging creams), hyaluronic acid, poly-acrylate 13, polyisobutene, poysorbate 20, xltylglucoside, anhydroxylitol, xylitol, phenoxyethanol, exthylhexylglycerin.

The directions clearly state to keep moisturizer refrigerated at all times and to use when the thermogenic label turns blue. Apply a thin layer to the skin and allow to dry. It’s used morning and evening to provide moisture and protect the skin.

I’ve seen a lot of innovations in the skin care industry, but this is one of the most unique approaches to skin beauty I have ever seen. I feel sort of odd keeping products in the refrigerator next to my leftovers, but my skin is certainly benefiting from it.
